UAP Talks With Building Officials From Negros Oriental Regarding The Implementation of SC Decision And Related Memos

The United Architects of the Philippines, led by its National President Ar. Donat o B. Magcale, and Past National President Ar. Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr., recently met with Building Officials from the local government units of Dumaguete City, Manjuyod, Bais City, Valencia, and Sibulan in Negros Oriental. They discussed the implementation of the SC decision (GR Nos. 200015 & 205846) to their immediate constituents through the Memorandum Circular No. 01 with the National Building Code Development Office of the Department of Public Works and HIghways (DPWH-NBCDO) and the recent advisory from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

As of this writing, 103 LGUs across the country have already started implementing the Supreme Court ruling for their constituents. This is a great leap towards ensuring the proper duty of licensed and registered architects to sign and seal architectural documents in projects.

Class Act: UAP Honors Ar. Robert Sac Through A Tribute Dinner

Last 20 March 2025, the UAP honored its Past National President, Ar Robert Samoy Sac, with a special dinner to celebrate his contributions to every architect for over a decade as Chairperson of the Professional Regulatory Board of Architecture.

Ar. Sac has been a familiar name for thousands of licensed and registered architects who took their oath before him at the Philippine International Convention Center, or abroad. Several reforms, developments, and significant changes made an impact on the architecture industry and profession under his watch, particularly the establishment of the ASEAN Architects among Southeast Asian counterparts, and the recent decision by the Supreme Court regarding the legality of duties of architects to sign and seal architectural documents in every construction project.

During his term as UAP National President (2002-2004), the organization won its first-ever award from the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) as the Most Oustanding Professional Organization in 2002.

May the spirit of unity, progress, and professional excellence accompany you in your future endeavors, Ar. Robert!

Mabuhay ang Arkitektong Pilipino at maraming salamat sa inyong dedikasyon at serbisyo sa bawat arkitektong PIlipino!
